Slow tourism in the Penedés.
The best way to discover our beautiful region full of panoramic views and surprises that nature offers, is to walk through it calmly and without haste. At VisitPenedés we have our local hosts, who with dedication and knowledge will help you to enjoy our region.
Remember that in the Penedés you will find inland, sea, mountains and large valleys.
There is a network of viewpoints that will guide you to the different areas of the region.
Here are some proposals to decide your most personal way of getting to know the Penedés:
TWO FEET
1. Trekking &hiking
Undoubtedly the most recommended and preferred way for lovers of slow tourism. The Penedés has hundreds of kilometers of routes, most of them well signposted to plan your excursion from north to south and from mountain to sea, enjoying the different natural areas at any altitude. You can go alone, in a group with or without a guide.
TWO WHEELS
2. Biking (road, classic & e-bike, BTT, tandem)
This option offers proposals for all tastes. Many teams of road bikers are usually seen touring the territory making loops up to 150 km from the sea to the interior of the region with some medium mountains.
MTB-lovers prefer to ride cross-country, through vineyards and along forest or river paths. Penedés 360 is the perfect tool to guide you.
For those who prefer the traditional bicycle or e-bike, there are many routes designed between towns, wineries and places of interest. Finally, for retro-biking lovers who do not want to be separated for a moment, there is the possibility of organizing a tandem route.
We always recommend using one of the good services of professional guides and hosts who will take you to the best places and tell you about their experiences and the history and culture of the region.
3. Motorbike
You can follow routes on well-marked secondary roads that offer panoramic views and curves for asphalt lovers. In some towns along the coast you can rent electric motorcycles that promote sustainability.
FOUR WHEELS
4. Tractor
Yes, there are those who offer simple routes with classic and modern tractors in the vicinity of some wineries and vineyards. Feel like a winegrower for a while.
5. Horse and carriage
Our region has different horse riding centers and for the more experienced riders there are horseback riding excursions with a guide. Some of them have antique carriages for a slow ride enjoying the panoramic views.
6. Car (electric, historic cabrio or Mehari)
Undoubtedly for some people the own car is the preferred option. Carry everything on me, stop wherever I want. But on the other hand limited to official roads and having to plan the route in advance.
But we can propose two alternatives, a tour with a classic historic car with local host that is fun and outdoors.
Another option would be to rent an electric car at one of the recommended points and take a tour of the Penedés Wine Road and discover some of the wineries that make up the route and its activities.
7. Jeep adventure & quads
You are into adventure and want to discover the region through the most difficult roads making use of your driving skills. We have companies specialized in adventure tourism that will offer you an experience to raise your adrenaline level.
8. Luxury car

10. Light aircraft

11. Ballooning and paragliding
